The Hancock County Department of Job & Family Services
announce Disaster Services for low income families
of Hancock County affected by the recent wind storm.
Funds may be used for emergency shelter, home repair, moving expenses,
insurance deductibles and items to be used in the clean-up.
Applications are available until Oct 17th at the
Hancock County Job & Family Services office,
7814 Hancock Co. Rd. 140, Findlay during business
hours Mon - Fri 8 am to 4:30 pm.
ALL APPLICANTS ARE ASKED TO BRING PROOF OF INCOME,
PROOF OF LOSS AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS
FOR ALL MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD.
To replace spoiled food purchase with food stamps,
individuals must visit Hancock County Job and Family Services
and submit a "Statement Requesting Replacement of
Food Stamps Benefits". This form must be submitted
within 10 days of the event that caused the food to spoil,
(in this case Sept. 14, 2008).
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hancock County
will be conducting a training class for
new volunteers this fall.

a Fall Color Canoe Trip
to paddle the waters of Van Buren Lake

to the Friends of Van Buren State Park.

will be held on

Walkers will gather at 1:30 for registration.
The walk is approximately 3 miles.

PREVENTIVE HEALTH CARE AVAILABLE
Preventive Health Care known as Healthcheck is free prevention and treatment service offered to children from birth to age 20. Services are also available to children with disabilities or chronic care needs. These services are provided through Ohio’s Medicaid program for those who qualify.
Healthchek covers prevention services such as physical exam, vision, hearing, dental, immunization assessment, lead poisoning, TB testing, STD testing, health education, behavioral health and other rehabilitative services.

The HHWP Community Action Commission's
Summer Crisis Program
will begin on July 1st and continue
through August 31st, or until allocated
funding is exhausted.
The program will provide one payment up to
$100 for a current electric bill
to eligible households and is targeted
to assist the elderly and individuals
that have a medical ened to keep
their electricity on.

Clients will need to bring proof of all household
income for persons 18 or older for

Cancer Patient Services
loans medical equipment for cancer patients, including
electric hospital beds, lift chairs, walkers, wheelchairs and more.
A CPS client may borrow this equipment for free
and use it as long as necessary.
All equipment is clean and in good repair and may be picked up
by a friend or family member of the cancer patient.
Larger equipment is delivered to the CPS client's home and
set up at no cost.
